Reflective Eucharist
Our new regular slot for the Eucharist is on Tuesdays at 7.30 pm. We begin to celebrate this regularly once more on 10th January 2012. Please do come along and try it out.
St Michael's Emergency Plan
Last year a lot of measures were put in place in preparation for a potential influenza epidemic. In the event we were not unduly affected but we do now have a plan in place to face a serious public emergency. Please note that care for those who are ill or bereaved offered by the clergy and others is extended to ALL members of our parish and not simply for church goers. Here is the outline provision:
Sunday School
The Sunday School provision has been revised from Autumn 2010. We now run groups for 2-4 year olds, 5-8, 8-10 and 11+. We are flexible about age and try to fit each child into the best group for them. Babies and toddlers are welcome. All our session leaders and helpers are CRB checked. Our teenagers take a turn serving in the sanctuary at the main 10am Sunday Eucharist once a month and at the special festivals.
Our Church
St Michael’s is an Anglican church, which uses modern catholic worship to welcome all to the Lord’s table. We are a smallish congregation, friendly to all comers, whether aged 9 months or 90 years, and whether ‘old hands’ at worship or new to faith and its celebrations. The building, at the junction of Jack Straw’s Lane and the Marston Road, was 50 years old in 2005: we celebrated our Jubilee in style in September. But those who worship in it come from far and wide: all corners of the globe, all ages, all spiritualities, find a home here.
