New weekly pattern of services
The Vicar and PCC have decided to revise the advertised pattern of midweek services at St Michael's to encourage and enable more people to attend more regularly during the weekdays.
New line up:
- Mondays @ 12 noon: short (10-15) minute service of prayer for Peace and Justice [currently not operational: watch this space]
- Wednesdays @ 11 am our Informal Eucharist [45 minutes] continues and will regularly include praying with the requests left on our prayer tree as well as hymns. Followed by coffee and conversation together.
- Thursdays @ 8 am Said Eucharist (30 minute Communion service)
- Fridays @ 5.30 pm Silent Meditation: a simple half hour of sitting in silence in our Lady (side) Chapel. An oasis of peace at the end of the working week.
The Vicar will continue to pray the Daily Offices (Morning, Evening and Night Prayer) as currently but these will be no longer be advertised and will be recited more flexibly than at present. The reason is so that we can focus attention on one thing each day.
Times of services are no longer at the same time every day but there is something offered at different times to give people the maximum opportunity to attend during the week so not just early morning or evening but also midday is now offered.
The 7.30 am Wednesday Eucharist has now become the 8am service on Thursdays
Sundays @ 10am will remain our main sung service of the week and is not going to be changed.
All are welcome
We are hoping to welcome along more people midweek with these changes - they last between 15 minutes (Mondays) 30 minutes (Thursday and Friday) and 45 minutes (Wednesday), explanation is provided for anyone not used to the service they are attending and booklets are provided to guide everyone through (except Fridays when nothing is needed except turn up, sit in the peaceful atmosphere and pray).
We look forward to seeing you...
